Module 6
Filmed & edited video
I filmed my video using a variety of short video clips and photos using my iphone 6. Originally, I recorded the audio on Garage Band, which is very easy to use. I was very pleased with the results, but when I logged onto Camtasia, it wasn't cooperating as it kept shutting down randomly. I became frustrated, because I only had a specified amount of time I could work on the project. So, I decided to switch to imovie, which proved very easy. All of my media just imported right in easily from my iphone. The only issue I found was that I couldn't figure out how to import audio. I don't believe it is an option, which was surprising. So, I decided to re-record the audio portion. I liked the flexibility of being able to record each sentence separately along with the timing of the video. The title screen was an easy drop and drag option, I also added a music track from imovie audio at the title and ending slide. I just followed Professor Beem's tutorial video for adding closed captions, which made it easy (thank you Professor Beem!). I have learned that Camtasia is more difficult to use, but it has more options beyond the basic video production and editing that imovie has. Editing a video takes a long time to complete. I spent a couple of days scripting and setting up shots. That is what took the longest. I could have done it more quickly, but I was really in to it, so it didn't feel like work and I really loved the cinnamon toast I made.
